Successful accommodation when mental health is a factor? You can do it!

When mental health is a factor, accommodation should be about supporting the employee to do his or her job in spite of a mental illness. You might be surprised to learn that, instead of accommodating what someone can’t do, it’s more important to determine what he or she can do.

Some employers have expressed concern about doing or saying the wrong thing in these situations, even though they have the best of intentions.

There are approaches that have been successful for hundreds of employees with mental health concerns. I’ll be sharing some of these real life examples and some valuable free resources in the webinar, Accommodation Success Stories, Thursday, October 1st from 1:00PM – 1:30PM ET.

At the end of the 30-minute webinar, I’ll also be providing a short list of questions that you can use to further explore what could help your own organization support employees with mental health concerns to do their jobs effectively.
