About the Event
Join Mary Ann and Sarah as they chat with Deborah Davison from Canuck Place Children’s Hospice about supporting employees who are experiencing loss, and how to keep your head above water when you're dealing with grief.
In our experience, grief can be a difficult emotion to tackle as someone who's experiencing it, and as a bystander. It can be tough to predict when the emotions of grief will hit, what it might look like, and how to respond. As a bystander, it can be really difficult to know what to do at that moment to give comfort.
Some questions we have for Deborah are:
"How can we just be a human experiencing grief at work?"
"What can I do to navigate supporting someone who's grieving?"
"When we think of grief, we picture losing a person. But what other situations can lead to grief?"
"How can we make grief an open conversation at work?"
All proceeds from this month's live event will be donated to Canuck Place Children's Hospice. Canuck Place is British Columbia’s pediatric palliative care provider for children with life-threatening illnesses and the families who love them. Their team of physicians, nurses, counsellors, therapists, staff, and volunteers provide medical respite care, pain and symptom management, art, music, and recreation therapy, end-of-life care, grief, loss, and bereavement counselling. All at no cost.
